"My name is Razan and im 8 years old. My town, Dariyah, has been under siege for more than a year. That means no food or
medicine can get in. We had some food in storage but it's all gone now.
We mostly eat olives, but some days my mom finds some rice or spinach
for us. Our house was destroyed by shelling and my dad was injured too.
My mom cries because we can't get him the medicine he needs. I'm really
sad when I hear her. She cries for my brother too because he's in prison
and we don't know what they are doing to him.
I haven't been to school in a year, but when I grow up I want to be
the best science teacher. Right now, I teach my brothers and sisters at
home so they won't fall behind. I hope that the fighting will end soon
and that we will have a free Syria where we can go to school in peace."
